FLEUROUSEL

Jardins de Métis 2024 – competition proposal

Fleurousel is a gathering place conceived as a sensory kaleidoscope for the International Garden Festival at the Jardins de Métis, in Québec. At its centre a carousel-like object, whose form recalls the petals of the blue poppy, invites visitors of every age to discover many different ways of interacting with nature, while hidden rattles bring back the games of childhood. Around it, native North American perennials and tall grasses, together with aromatic and medicinal plants such as witch hazel, juniper, yarrow, mint and the blue poppy, flower at different times, so that the garden changes from season to season. More than a stop along the park’s path, the garden is a journey through the scents, colours and culture of Québec.
